why can't I change my email address?

Subject says it all pretty much. When I go into my profile, change my email address, and hit "submit", I get a message saying I can't because someone else already has that email address. Well, yeah, I ... oops, waitaminit... maybe my old "Outlaw_Dogboy" ID is still active?

I'll be back... maybe... at least to let you know.

AYUP, that was it. Got it fixed like I want it now. BTW, thanks for helping me find this place, Spark. I feel like the idiot again....

I have the same problem. How can I delete the old E-mail address, which hasn't worked in a while, and substitute my new one. This is obviously not a problem that can be solved through E-mail and I bet all kinds of people are trying to contact me and feeling really hurt that I'm not replying. Then again...maybe not.

John, have you gone to "User CP"? That is how I took care of mine. My problem is it wouldn't let me change my address because the address I was changing it TOO was registered to a former userid here on BFc. So what I had to do was go to that one, change the address there first, then go to my new userid that I originally wanted to change, and change it to the desired email address. It is much harder to type than to do. Hope this helps. If not, feel free to email me directly at the give address and I'll try to explain better. Or Spark can handle it; just thought I'd try to help.
