Why can't I find one of these?

Sellers remorse? That stinks. I’d put it behind me and find something nicer myself.

I just love the particular profile of this knife. The steel is supposed to be good too. I know nothing about Moki knives but I like this one. I can find similar but this one has 4" blade - just what I want.

I hope you find it again. I was just offering a possible relief to your grief. Lol.

When you get dumped by a model, look for a super model to date.

I feel your pain.

Back in the late 80's early 90's I had a Parker brand one-piece stainless-steel boot knife. I liked it, but I gave it to a friend who also liked it out of gratitude for a favor he did me. It turned out to be a perfect example of "you don't know what you've got until it's gone".

Now between the internet, and the fact that Parker knives were inexpensive and mass-produced, you'd think I'd be able to find another. But no. It's now 2021 and I still can't find one. I haven't even been able to find a picture of one.

Just gotta keep looking and hope you get lucky.

The boot knife I'm looking for has a 5" double-edged dagger blade, 3 or 4 round holes in the handle, and 1 diamond shaped hole between the little guard points.

Good luck to us both.

I don't do custom orders, so this isn't an advertisement. :)

But, if you are willing to spend $388 like the similar one listed and just like the style and don't care about the brand, get one of the custom makers on here to make you something similar. It probably won't even cost you that much and it will be a better knife anyway. That's my 2cents.

This is a real long shot. The only reason I bring it up, is because the price is much lower, and it's much easier to get.

The TOPS Moccasin Ranger.

Like I said, a long shot. Really, the only common factor between this and the Moki is the long clip. But, I wonder if that's the point?

it's hard to get because it's long discontinued. Beretta made a few custom collabs with Moki including a Jess Horn and Loveless model. They are great knives but the only place you'll find them is secondary market.

Even on the secondary market, geez! Are these the kinds of knives you don't see on the internet? Are they discussed quietly, by men who smell faintly of aftershave, in oak-paneled rooms? Moki seems to just fly under the radar, although I wonder if that's because General Knife is mostly focused on one-handed locking folders?

I spent about half an hour confusing Google's search algorithm trying to find one of these, and gave up. I think, if we're going to be any help to Mojo, it will be by trying to find a knife which has enough desirable characteristics to take the place of the Moki. Assuming that's possible.

You might already know this, but that knife was part of Beretta's International Guide series of knives. They came in black micarta and cocobolo. They were made from the early 90's - early 2000's. There were 4-5 models in the set.

That's a decent run, but they hardly ever show up on the secondary, as has been mentioned.
