Why Demko refuses to sell large pivot replacement scales?

Anyone know why Demko refuses to sell large pivot replacement scales? On their website they only list the small pivot versions, when I inquired directly I was told they will not sell large pivot versions. I could see if they would not sell scales at all, but it seems a bit silly to refuse to sell one type while happily selling the other.

I had hoped to find a natural G10 to swap out for a blue G10 large pivot version.

Not a dumb question, but I want something in G10, that has really good grip texture, peel-ply etc.. I haven't seen anything like that in the aftermarket world. Most of it is all aluminum, titanium, micarta or smooth G10. If you are lucky enough to find it like the Flytanium, they are small pivot only.

gotcha. makes sense. thanks.....

Have you looked at the RGT G-10 scales?
Deep angled/diamond etc.

Yeah, but their page specifically says "Does not fit larger pivot model" for the Demko G10 scales. The only scales they list for the large pivot version are Ultrem, Micarta, Al, Ti.

Also RGT is fine, but in the past I haven't been impressed with the grip/finish on their G10 options for other knives, and $80 for a set of G10 scales is priced pretty high IMO. Especially when textured, cerakote aluminum scales from them are $65. I bought a set of diamond pattern G10 scales from them for a Deka and maybe it's their milling process to do the textures or just that G10 doesn't mill great etc. but they were still pretty poor grip compared to something like peel ply or Demko's factory G10 diamond scales.

I thought about swapping the pivot out for a smaller one, but the only options there seem to be Titanium, and frankly TI is a piss poor material for that purpose. I swear people make the worst things out of Ti, just to market it as a wonder material to the masses that don't know better.
