Why did I wait this long to get a BK2?!!... & a few other new toys

Uncle E's kitchen blades were on my Christmas list but when I saw the sale I had to say screw Santa and jump on them. I just got them a few days ago but so far I'm impressed; came very sharp, all I did was give them a quick strop and they were ready to slice & dice. They're well worth $100 but at 50 bucks they're a no brainer!

Like the title says, I don't know why I waited this long to get a 2! It's a sharpened tree felling wedge and love it! The BK2 is a beast!

My new non-Becker purchase. Walther PPQ M2 w/ Trijicon night sights. Put 200 rounds through it yesterday and even though I heard all the praise about the trigger, it was even better than I thought it would be.

Very nice! The BK2 really is a beast. Definitely the go to blade when you need heavy duty!

The PPQ has one of the best out of the box triggers on the market; I prefer the original euro style mag release though. The BK2 on the other hand never really did it for me personally, but I think I am in the minority there. Really like those scales though

I like the euro mag release too but its really hard to find an M1 right now, I believe Walther is gonna import both styles next year. The other reason I opted for the M2 is continuity. I've trained on and own the thumb style release on every other pistol and especially being a defense weapon muscle memory is important.

I've only used mine a few times since I got it. But it's one of my favorites already

That is absolutely true. Aany mag release set up is going to be enagaged using a fine motor skill which is one of the first things to go in a high stress situation, so it is imperative that you have trained extensively and developed that muscle memory.

So, the BK2 doesn't do it for you?

Just wait until you don't have an axe and the only wood around is all hickory or ancient oaks.
I had this experience and blasting through it all with the BK2 was a chore, but I can only imagine how bad it could have been with something thinner or less sturdy. I watched it bend into a neat curve at one point, due to a knot in the wood, and once past it went right back to the expected shape. No issues at all.

It's not for everyone, but it's a beast and I love mine.

Maybe there needs to be a Beckerhead 'Interspecies Erotica, it isn't for everyone, but I love my beast of a BK2!' T-shirt.
