Ok, I'm one of the weird guys who hates deep carry clips. I want to be able to get a good hold on the knife on the way out of the pocket, and deep carry clips just don't don't cut it (pardon the pun) for me. After a bit of eyeballing, I thought I'd try something out, and it worked perfectly!

Now does it work the other way? Can an XM (any variety) take a 560 clip? I have always wondered why in all the XM pictures I have never seen anything but the factory clip. I have never owned an XM, but figured of all the people out there surely someone would not like that clip and have STR make them one or just make their own. I used to really like deep carry clips, but am leaning away from them. I like just a little sticking out, not as much as in that picture, but not with the knife fully buried, a nice middle is great. For me, the clip is the one thing on a knife I am very particular about. Most stock clips are not to my liking. I am always taking them off, swapping them around, or making/modifying them.
 
It does not work the other way. The 560 clip is too wide and tall. The width could be taken care of easily, but the height you're pretty much stuck with.
 
Does the XM clip fit more flush to the frame by any chance? The ZT deep clip rides a bit too far off the frame for my liking.
 
Hey guys...yes the deep pocket clip will work on the xm ..however you have to use the filler tab to fill the clip slot and then screw the clip on over that. You can buy the filler tabs from us.

Does anybody else get a little "starstruck" when Rick Hinderer, Jimmer_5, KershawLynda, etc. post around here? (and Sal Glesser in the Spyderco forum)

Yea, I've always thought for the owners, designers, and manufacturing reps to come in here and answer our specific ?? really shows they care about there products and how they are perceived by there customer base. The first time Sal answered one of my questions in the spydie forum I was a little giddy.

I know I do. That's the equivalent of meeting someone like Miguel Cabrera or Justin Verlander for me.
 
Only problem with putting the 0560 deep carry clip over the filler tab on the Hinderer is the screws aren't long enough to engage the frame. Anyone know what size screws would be needed?
 
Screw length too short? Want deeper pocket carry? Problems solved! Just remove the clip and stow it in the box! Seriously - try it. Clipless, the knife feels better in your hand, too.
