Why do I look at the sales board?

(Disclaimer: I have no connection with the seller or interests in the knife other than wishing I could afford it. As far as I know we're allowed to discuss knives for sale, outside of the sale boards. I hope...)

I can't resist checking out the sales board every now and then, just to see what's around. I really shouldn't torture myself since I'm currently broke, but I'm glad I did. It's a bit like the 'It's better to have loved and lost...', even though in this case I've not even had it to lose. I've seen it though and I feel enriched that I have seen the most perfect knife. Oh my, I want that knife!

It's not got fancy scales, no snakeskin or tiger here, or fancy grinds with teeth. It's just a perfect combination of simple, pure beauty and functionality. It speaks to me!

It's shane's NMFBM:

(Hope you don't mind me using your picture Shane - I'll take it off if you want)

Imagine that, paired with a CABS-LE. The most perfect combination I've ever seen or imagined.

I wish I wasn't broke :(

I would like to have that as well! I wish now that I did not see it!

Great looking!

I do the same thing to my self all the time.

Cruse the sales board, when really, I don't have any money to spend. This has resulted in a great buy or two, though. Some times you see exactly what you are looking for at a great price that can't be beat, and then you just have to sell something else to make the difference.

Being broke sucks :(

I check the sales board all the time, it's depressing

But I do agree, an ABS would go very nicely with it, look pretty good piggy backed

The Busse Exchange used to be my home page.

But now that I'm selling more than buying, I changed that, and only look at it two or three times a day. But that's only to keep abreast of the market, and know what things are selling for.

No, really. :p

Man, I wouldn't call those handles "plain". They're black paper, doesn't get much better IMO. Those satin/black paper NMFBMs are one of the most perfect big chopper knives ever made. I can say you won't see mine come up on the exchange for anything other than a great catastrophe in my life. ;)

We all probably go there to check out the blades. It's kind of like a kid looking through the window of a candy store. We may not be able to purchase them but we can dream. Are there any Hogs out there in need of a perfectly good liver. I've got my eye on a sweet knife and i'm a little short on cash right now. :D

How much does a kidney go for these days?

No idea, but since I'm putting rather a lot of Glenfiddich through mine right now, I would have to describe them as 'users'... or maybe 'beaters'.

That right there is all it takes my friend, that sums it up for me.

Knives come and go but I will never ever ever let go of my nmfbm. I'm still questioning how I ever obtained one. Once you go NMFBM you have arrived. I wish your will power good luck.

They're just broken in.

When someone buys something as expensive as a kidney, they want to know for sure that it works ;):D

Looks good, I like to go by certain mega sale threads and have myself a laugh at the prices over actual cost.

I always window shop the Busse for sale page. I'm just curious what knives members are willing to sell. Sometimes it surprises me the real nice ones that are posted.

I know what you mean. I gotta wait for a few months to buy anything else. I got a SFNO LE coming to me that I bought myself for Christmas, and that's put a hurt on my knife budget.

What is this phenomenon of selling a knife? I don't get the idea??
