Why do people want a Busse folder?

It just doesn't seem like a good use of Busse's time, there are plenty of other high end folders out there, what would set Busse apart?

I can't even imagine how Busse could incorporate their designs, or steel for that matter, into a folder. From what I've read INFI doesn't do well when it's thin.

What would it look like then, a big blocky thing, an overbuilt novelty knife? What would it do that a small fixed blade, like a BAD or CABS, couldn't do better?

I don't mean to be disparage the idea, but I have to admit, I can't imagine what the knife would even be like.

What do you guys think? Anyone want to come to the defense of the Busse folder?

Cause....it's 'Merica and I want a damn Busse folder. That's enough reason.


Medford has the Praetorian and other large folders. Battle Horse has their....whatever it's called, their massive folder. There's a lot of good sized folders out there and they sell well, and if/when Busse makes a folder is doesn't have to mean it will be a giant uncomfortable thing.


And for years pics of Busse folder prototypes have been leaked and a Cubera has popped up on the bay every now and then. 3 years ago at Blade Jerry had another folder proto, there's a pic of it and Jaxx somewhere on the forum.

It's a teasing thing really.


I'm still waiting for green linen scales to come back too, and a good replacement for snake skin
 
don't look at me, i can be happy without a Busse folder.


Just bring the Basic 8!
 
..or at least Black Canvas micarta and Black G10 on the ganza BIG satin knives. What is going on?
 
Well since Busse is known for knives of absolutely ludicrous sizes/thicknesses... They just may create a folding tree chopper. Now that, that is something. :eek:
 
I just received my Beefmandu with black canvas from the last Ganza about 2 weeks ago. It was way later than the other knives!

I wonder if Busse is having trouble sourcing black canvas for some reason.
 
If Busse made a folder, I am pretty sure it will have an Elmax blade. It will be great to have a Busse folder offered to the masses. But IMHO it already takes to long for different available knives to be offered on their site. I would think the process of producing a folding knife will not help matters.......
 
INFI does very well when thin.... just make it a bit harder, like the BAD!

There is a lot of brand loyalty. I'd like to see a folder!
 
Because Jerry can and will design a fantastic folder for all his HOGS and anyone else who wants one.

That's asking why I have more than 2,3,4 or 5 Busse or kin. If I were being purely practical I would sell all but one NMFBM, one NMSNO and one SOB. IF they do make one I hope it is not as small as a Medford Pretorian :)
 
Hmmm...My friend tuica said he would not be interested in a Busse folder (he says now - wait 'till they made one!), but I can see its usefulness.
