Why do some folder makers have squarish bolsters?

Don't they realize that a folder is carried CLOSED in the pocket?

I see folders that should have a sheath.

I know what you mean. I like things nicely rounded myself.
I recently got a LW Loveless City Knife. I thought that the tang protruding from the handle would be a real turn off. It's not nearly as bad as the square bolsters. It just doesn't carry well in my pocket

This is one of the things that makes the Ralph/Camilus EDC so great. Handle one closed sometime. Not a sharp edge anywhere on it.

There are a lot of things that look cool, but are not practical once you get down to day to day usage.

What don't you like about square bolsters? I have the city knife and have no trouble with it in my pocket. Do you wear tight pants?
