i just received my esse-4 yesterday and it has a serial # just like my rc-5 but my rc-3 doesn't have a serial #. all the pics of the rc-4 i've been drooling over don't have a serial #. just curious since all three are not special edition.

...i'm triple-oh seven. i have a license to chop dead branches. :D 1941 is also a significant # (attack on pearl harbor by air and the rc-5 is a pilot's survival knife).

i like the new esee logo too. neat that i have all three versions of the logo now.

All knives branded ESEE now feature serial numbers, except for the AH-1 Arrowhead and the Lite Machete. In the past we didn't serialize every knife.

thanks, jeff.

My old RC-4 had the serial number hidden under the scales.

similar to this? my rc-3:

i don't remember if my rc-5 has one but my esse-4 has the same 021010 under the scale too. maybe it's a steel batch #. jeff?

I don't remember how many digits it had. I thought it was 4 like my Izulas but I could be wrong.

That's not a serial number under the scales. It's a heat treat date.
