Why do the Portland, Oregon Knife Companies NOT come to the Oregon Knife Show?

It's the Biggest State Knife Show (500 tables) and also said to be the biggest custom knife show in the Nation? Buck and Spyderco come:thumbup:, but NOT Kershaw, Gerber, Benchmade, or SOG., etc?:thumbdn: 5,000 knife customers are not big enough?
 
Just a guess, but probably because anyone that comes to Portland, can just swing by any of those places to see their knives.
 
I guess I could turn it around and say we never got asked to set up at the show. Dave has been representing us there the last few years.
 
I'll be there again this year.. it's decent.. definitely lots of tables.. And its more a custom/collectors show IMO.. production companies tables are of no interest to me..

Seeing Kiku, Ochz, Okuden, Eddleman, Carter, and several others.. a few displays and to watch a quick seminar is why I'm going.. Some rarities show up in some tables too.

It just seems funny that we see the real owners of both Buck and Spyderco in person, but not even a real rep from the knife companies up in Portland. Just asking the question.

Murray was asked to do another demonstration this year, too. Also, unlike last year, Carter Cutlery will be attending BLADE 2012.
 
You know, you've been here for all of three weeks, and every post I've seen from you has been abrasive and disrespectful. Thomas won't say it, but I owe him one or two (or three) and I will. Back off. You're out of line.
 
Always tons of Kershaw's at OKCA, many sources. My Randall book sells there as well, but I don't set up and compete with my resellers, that would be bad juju...
