Am I the only 1 that's ever noticed that we usually have more guests on line than members ?

No big deal but why don't they register ? Post, buy and everything else that members can do.

I was on General Discussion today and I noticed we had 60 members and 199 guests.

This will probably be moved to another forum where not many people will see it.......hope not tho.

I've noticed that as well. Probable just casual glances, or they don't feel the need to contribute to the conversation, dunno.

I for one, don't log in while at work, but will still check things out during lunch and breaks. Others might do the same?

could be allot like myself, that are members, but when i check for updates or a quick read, i don't log in. i just read as a guest. not sure how many do like i do, but i imagine a few of that bunch?

Also Bladeforums threads pop up very frequently in Google results when folks are looking for reviews or knife information.

Most people who visit forums are just casual knife people, not hardcore "knifenuts". They don't have any interest in joining when they do not plan to make posts.

I frequent other forums where I have not bothered to join.

That is how I found the site, and then joined, when I kept coming across the same site over and over. BF seems to be the biggest knife forum site, do not know if anyone knows for sure.

Yeah this is true. I saw bladeforums in search results many times before i joined. One barrier to entry i think is how much 'knifespeak' there is around the forum. If you're not a knife person you don't understand the majority of what people are saying. What's a 'scale' a 'para' a 'GB' or a 'sebbie' to someone that hasn't hung out in the knife world that much? I had been collecting knives for a decade before i came here but i still didn't know what people were talking about.

How is this a knife specific topic?
