I am an engineer by trade and also am an artist. As such I admire sound design, the aesthetics of form, and high quality materials and costruction.
In Busse knives I find the purest of designs, executed in an aesthetically pleasing manner, yet without unnecessary adornment, and the highest quality materials possible to obtain. Form follows function, yet to a very pleasing end. Everything you need and nothing you don't.
I might note that there are some Busses that I have not acquired because of the above criteria. For instance, I do not want an Argonne Assault, and am not a big fan of the extra-thick Busses, as I find the thinner ones to be more utile.
Whenever I find myself strongly admiring any other manufacturer's knives, they invariably have an uncanny resemblance in appearance to Busses, and cannot possibly be better constructed, so there is really no point in me buying anything else. The only non-Busse fixed blade knife I have ever acquired that I esteem as highly as my Busses is a JSP Arch Angel.
I won't even get into what the Busse family has meant to my daughter and me.
