Ok guys, I've been looking at the CQC7V for some time now...but today I stumbled upon the desert mini roadhouse and it's a battle in my mind between which to get. I need some help here!!

I would definitely get the Desert Roadhouse because I personally think the design is really awesome. I find the CQC 7's a little bit of a boring design, but it is a classic design and a really good working knife just as all Emerson's are.

Just got the Mini Roadhouse today. Awesome design. It blows the -7B away in looks and blade shape. The Roadhouse also has a better blade to handle length ratio. I'd go with the Roadouse. I got one and besides the Benchmade Stryker, it's the only other tanto I've ever liked.

Well I have never owned nor handles a mini roadhouse, but I love my cqc7v. Its one of the best knives I own and one of the last I would get rid of if I had to thin out the herd. The g10 is very aggressive, the action is smooth, and the factory edge on it makes it one of the sharpest knives I've owned.

Im a huge cqc7 design fan though too.

The mini roadhouse is an intriguing design that I would really like to check out sometime though.

I have a cqc-7b and a regular roadhouse, I dunno how the mini roadhouse feels in hand but the regular roadhouse and cqc-7 are spot on for me, I have average sized hand FWIW. The cqc-7 is a classic knife and I really suggest owning one, I would say get both, the mini roadhouse is a little bit bigger some say it has a 3.4 inch blade other sites say it's 3.5 it weighs about an ounce more than the cqc-7 which has a 3.3 inch blade. the 7 has a special place in my heart I've mentioned why several times on the forums no need to say it again. Just get which ever one you like best , you won't be disappointed with either FWIW I put my roadhouse up for sale, then took it down and decided to keep it. My cqc-7 will never be put up for sale ever.

If money is no object, flip a coin. That is the only fair way to do it. Then do a best 2 out of 3. ;)

I would have both...but I'm a poor-ish college student. I have to wait til I start working again this summer though to get either one

I can't speak to the Mini-Roadhouse, because I don't have one. I do have a full size Roadhouse and the 7V and while I love the Roadhouse, the 7V is what gets used and carried the most.

I've been trying to find a 7V in a spear point and have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know if a 7V spear point will ever become a reality? Or, is it just a wait-and-see?

I have both the CQC-7V and the mini-Roadhouse. Love them both. Their sizes are just right for me.

But there's something about the desert mini-roadhouse that's calling out to me.

If you love Emerson's, you won't go wrong with either. Hopefully, you will eventually end up with both. It's just a matter of choosing which one to buy first. :)

Good luck!

7v all the way.

I only have a cqc7, not the V. But, iv been carrying my newest knife for about a week now like I always do when I get a new knife. Its a ti spyderco military and badass imo. So, why am I at work wishing I would have grabbed my cqc7 instead lol. I have serious problems lol. Why am I even thinking about this at work? Anyway. The design is a great one and a cqc7 in any variation should be on everyones list.
