Why does my 0300 have a serial number?

I have/had a ZT0200, 0350, and 0301 and they all had dates on the blade instead of a serial number. I have a 0300 with a 4-digit serial number on it. Does this mean it was a first production run or do all 0300's have serial numbers instead of dates. Does anybody know when the 0300 was first released (I believe it was after the 0301 and 0302).
 
ALL of my 200's, 300's and 350's have serial numbers and dates. :confused:
I know the dating system will probably stop soon, not sure if the serial numbers will.
 
Interesting. Having my 0200 in a cigar box next to my chair, I never thought about the date stamp. But mine does have a date. Its stamped Jul 07 and the serial number is 0814. A date and serial number.
 
I just pulled out the latest 0200. Ser. 2192.......no date.
I'm sure Thomas mentioned the dating was going to end. I guess it's happening now. ;)
 
He did say the date stamps were going to end.

He just didn't give us a date when it would happen! :D
 
Niether of my 0350s don't have dates. The 0350KW is ser. 0005 and the 0350ST is ser. 0213.

My 0350's don't have dates, and I bought them from the first batch.
