Why does search bring up blank screen?

Every once in a while when I search for terms I get a blank white page and my progress bar says Done. I try to refresh the page and bladeforums tells me that I have to wait 30 seconds or something. So I wait... do the search again... and get a blank white screen. It isn't my computer... I get the same result from three different computers, varying in age from new hotness to old and busted.
 
NOPE! Still does it. Like once a week there will be a day when the search just decides not to work.
 
Same thing happens to me, and it is REALLY frustrating. It only happens when I search for specific words or phrases.

For example, when I search all forums and search entire posts with the keyword "sebenza" all I get is a blank screen. No matter what browser I try it on and no matter what time of day i try it on, it ALWAYS happens to me.

I guess I am overloading the server, but it is pretty frustrating not being able to search the forums for what I want.
 
One addition to the FAQ that will solve the blank screen issue.

The BF search engine uses an OR operator for search terms instead of an AND operator like Google.

If you put the search term "Native steel" into the BF engine, it searches for all threads that contain "Native" OR "Steel". It overloads and you get a white screen. Putting multiple terms into the BF search engine WIDENS the search.

IF you put the same terms into Google, you get all pages that contain both "Native" AND "Steel". Adding terms to a Google search NARROWS the search.

Do one word searches and the engine will work for you.

I can't get it to work at all.

Looking for CG BM sheath options at the moment but I think I've only had one search work.
 
Perhaps an option in the advanced search screen should be added to do an AND search.

If you look at Google's advanced search screen you can select:

with all of the words
with the exact phrase
with at least one of the words
without the words

I don't know if BFC can do a mod like that to the forum software, but it would make it more functional if it could.
