Why does Spyderco tempt us with such good knives

Ok, this all stems from my recent 'decision' that I needed a new knife (to go with the half dozen other knives i've got). I remeber how nice my Spyderench is and think "hows about I get myself a nice new Spyderco knife"

So I start looking, and I quickly come up with a list that basically includes the entire spyderco product line

Finally narrow down the list to either an FRN Native or a Native III.

Then what do I do? I manage to convince myself that I need both! :D

Having recieved the Native III (FRN Native on backorder :grumpy: ) and opened and closed it only once........ I immeadiately condemn all other knives to the bottom drawer, eagerly await the arrival of my FRN Native and start looking at the Military AND the Para military.......

So why are Spyderco products so tempting? is there some built in 'tempt' chip or am I just suffering from the same (incurable) disease all other Spyderholics are suffering from? :D

It's the virus.
The virus that infected us all.
And you're the next victim.

You've clearly been bitten by the Bug.

:p

I have the same ailment. I have been buying a Spydie a week most of the year. I have been strong so far this week but if the Para Milie was available I would have folded and whipped out the old credit card.

Spyderco has certainly proved that building quality products, selling them at reasonable prices, and backing them with first rate service, is a viable marketing strategy. Makes purchasing another, and another, and yet another seem sooooo logical. Oh, and BTW Ferreter, if you think the Native III a smooth operator, just wait till you get your hands on the C41 in S30V. That one's so smooth its almost scary.

The Deacon is right. I am packing my Native as we speak. Another big Spyderco plus is that the owner of the company comes here to listen and respond to our gripes. Try to find that with another knife company.

Your infected now. You might as well pick out what knives you want, there are more news ones coming every month or so. I have had a Spydiefly on pre-order since last Sept. :)

i think it's a conspiracy to take all my fun money.

that said, i'm waiting with baited breath to spend more (on some used ones to wave and on the upcoming spyderfly, if nothing else)
