Ive had two william henry knives in about 5 years and sold off both because i got bored, there was no forums or any place to chat about them. I enjoy chatting with other owners such as sebenza owners and strider owners, but for some reason william henry owners never chat , why is that?

I'm guessing cause a lot of us just don't have the money to buy some of these. They're beautiful pieces and I would love to own one, but alas, I gotta pay the bills.

I dont hang out with the William Henry crowd..
They scare me.. :p Plus other Knives are much more fun/cool/tacticool/fast compared to those...

It's not just about the price. WH knives are made to be used but they're so beautiful that most people consider them to be safe queens. I guess the same would be true of the more expensive Sebbies - if I could afford one in damascus I'd queen it and use a standard for EDC

well, i was gonna say three things but they were already said, im a redneck soldier, a sebenza is the classiest thing i could own and a benchmade is the most expensive thing i could afford. also, they just couldnt possibly be EDC'd. the only knife i wouldnt EDC (besides large fixed blades) is my (now discontinued) BM Skirmish

Amen there brother!

They're lovely and I'm sure they are functional, but way beyond my price range.

You know I bought a P10 Lancet, it was a Pearl Handled very plain knife, I even got it for a great price, less than 1/2 of the goin' price.

It's my Sunday go to meetin' knife, my only problem was after they made the first series the price went through the roof and I could only afford the one knife but I do like to show it off and talk about it.

i dont know about that with all the folks who have sebs, striders and other semi customs and customs which cost at least as much and in some(a lot?) cases more than WH, a $350 or $500 knife really isnt any big deal for a lot of folks on BF.

i have had a WH or 2, gotten thru swapping stuff, the 2 i had were very well made and fitted knives but a little on the small side for me anyway, none of the WH designs have ever really "grabbed" me though, imho theres just a lot of better stuff around for the $$.

I expect that like most others I've only seen them in catalogs, so any opinion I'd spout would not be worth anything.

I like a few of his knives but they are a bit over the top for me.
The materials they use are fantastic and they really can put out an amazing knife but they are just too busy for me.
I still lust over the Persian but have never seen one that looks plain enough yet:p

This is the only one I have just now. Nice clean, simple lines and good materials

I would love to own one someday. My dad has one, i'm not sure of the model, but it's a 2.75" blade in ZDP core damascus with titanium handles, button lock, and a sapphire in the thumb stud. I think msrp was something like $475, he snagged it as old stock from somewhere in texas for like $275. Gorgeous knife, i've asked him if he wants a harder use knife (gift idea, ya know.) and he immediately said NO. So i guess he is happy with it. :) It's the only knife he owns... but i haven't infected him yet. :D

I swear I'll own one at some point, but it's not in the cards right now. I'm presently more on the lookout for hard-use knives. A WH would be more at home in a suit pocket.

They have just never appealed to me. I have had the pleasure of handling them. I DO like small knives, but they just don't float my boat.

I have several WH's myself and do carry them occasionally. They do seem too nice for a real using knife, but it's nice to have to look at and fondle though!

They are like a fine time piece, made with high end materials with the utmost precision and designed to be used. The beauty and price hinders use with many, but if used as a knife should be used(for cutting) and not for prying and jabbing they will last for a good long time.

Anyone purchasing a WH as well as any other knife out their should "Do their homework" and get the knife that works for them and their situation. These are fantastic folders that should be considered by someone looking at small high end folders that are seasoned as to using a knife within its means.

I have examined a couple WH knives, both appeared flawless in the fit and finish. Problem is I do not find much to complain about with Al Mar, Moki or Mcusta brands for far less money.

They are beautiful knives, and I have handled several of them at the local knife store. I just can't see spending that much on a knife that I know I would not use for more than opening an envelope.

I think thats why few people talk about them - they are not used as EDC and therefore not put into the various situations that the production and semi custom knives are.

My personal rule is I will not buy something for "investment" purposes - I want to use it. I can't see myself opening up 25 bags of play sand to refill the kids sandbox with a WH.

Ah man, if I could afford one, I'd wear the socks off of it. There is nothing out there I wouldn't do that to though. Are you going to take that $300 Rigid hammer drill and never use it? Probably not, it is just a tool to me.

edit: that's not go to saying that some of you want to keep your stuff nice though. I do have one particular knife, not a william henry, but i wouldn't use it for its sentimental value.
