Why Doesn't Benchmade Have a Forum on Here?

I just recently noticed that Benchmade is not included in the manufacturer forums? I'm just amazed how such a company is not included. Did Benchmade have restrictions or something?

Nope. Benchmade's choice. To my knowledge, all that's required is that a manufacturer have a dedicated moderator to oversee the forum.

They have their own and when that happens the atmosphere tends to be much more "brand-friendly". A forum this large is going to incite a million emotions and I reckon they might not care for that. You can see the difference between BF/Spyderco and the Spyderco forum as well.

The benchmade forum is not very active. I think if they had a forum here it would be more active. Come to think of it I'm not sure if they participate on their own forum.

I think BF has helped spyderco, kershaw and kabar/Becker a lot.

I never warmed up to Benchmade designs save for the 707 which I have. You got a point however, I'm a member on the Spyderco forums as well.

I would agree, both Sal and Thomas have listened to the members on here and their time and effort is very much appreciated by the BF community.

Sorry--just had to. :D :D :D

I love that when you ask a certain question on this forum many times the person who designed/made it or works closely with the production will answer the question.. IE RJ Martin, Rick Hinderer, and of course good ole Thomas W. ... I would love to see that here with benchmade but guess they like to run there own things

Benchmade has had their own forum since the mid-1990s at least.

It was the first company/factory-specific forum I recall finding back then.

Their president/CEO and even his wife used to post on it too.

Back when I was active on the Benchmade forum, they had almost no company presence on their own forum. It was little more than a place for the fans to get together, discuss the history of old models and speculate on new ones. If they have that little interest in their own forum, why would they want one here?
