They are the most comfortable (IMO) thumbstuds ever. Why don't they use them in all the knives that the thumbstuds don't act as the stopping mechanism?
I also agree. The thumbstuds/blade stops that I was previously used to, kind of seem weird (can't really explain it). The Blurs thumbstuds are by far the most comfortable thumbstuds that I've felt. The only reason I can think of is maybe they wont look good on certain knives aesthetically. Besides that, I can't really think of any other reason that they wouldn't put the slanted thumbstuds on.
Comfortable???!!! Those things are like sharks teeth and will eat your hands alive if you try to put your hand in the pocket where your knife is clipped!
But OTOH they do work very well and make my Blur my most positive opening knife with thumbstuds.
I like the Echelon studs. I've handled some Blurs where the stud was a bit sharp. I like the angled cut though as it is very comfortable to use. The Echelon ones look very modern and fit better design wise with the newer designs. They would look great on something like the Tilt or a titanium Echelon type knife. They would have to be a decent size since they don't grip like the Blur studs. I agree that the smaller Blur type are hard to use, but maybe not for the same reason. For me the smaller size becomes a small sharp point because of the larger angle of my fat thumb relative to it. All other type studs scale nicely, I imagine the Echelon style would as well and I hope to see more of that new style.
