I found this Electrician's knife at a yard sale a while back, it's strong and the screwdriver/wire stripper has a lockback

A very well made Electricians Knife, even though it's made in Pakistan, F&F are fantastic.

I wish someone in the US would make one.

That would just make too much sense. Man, how many times in my life would that have been a dream to have?

I used it for 6 years workin' for the County, I set a lot of electrical panels with it. :)

I gotta wonder, from the early 1900s till the 1950s, (give or take decade) there were all kinda tool knives.

Look at all those tool knives they had that came in the little cases with the tool kit attachments that hooked onto the end of the knife handle and all those plier knives that still kept the traditional flavor.

Has Leatherman and Victorinox completely taken over the niche?

Instantly, when I saw the picture I said to myself, "I could use that." It doesn't get much simpler than that. Heck, if I'm building/making/fixing something that I need to use a level on, I've probably already been using my knife.

Three words:
I want one.

This is the best Electrician's Knife design I have seen; very nice find, thank you for sharing that!!
I don't think that you can find anything quite like this anymore.

By coincidence, I bought a pal of mine a wee key-ring level yesterday, set into a tough rectangular perspex block about 1" long. Thought it looked kind of cool, and something he'd use.

The pocket tools are marketed differently now. Everything is cheaper, faster, stronger/ but not with all three as priority design goals.

I actually like the way the mechanical forces are distributed in the Gerber multi-tools. It's a really trick design there, but the HT on the wire cutters is obviously a design goal as well. So its not a "tool" at all.

So if someone takes this influence from Pakistan and uses it on an American made knife, that would certainly put alot of people (myself also) in the "hypocrite" category about mouthing Pakistan made knives.
