SK and C&C are doing tons of exclusives on the Spitfire, the 112, 110, 119, etc...
But I don't see anything being done with the 113. What gives?

I guess to get the ball rolling, I'll ask, if there were exclusives of the 113 what would you want?

Personally? I'd love it in CPM154 with full flat grind, bolster delete, full length G10 scales, and kydex sheath. I think it would be an awesome EDC.

So two part question:
1) why don't we see more variations on this great knife
2) what variations would you like to see?

The custom shop has quite a few nice steel and handle options. I would like to see them add nickel silver bolsters.

I would like a flat grind and some handle options, with or without bolsters. I've had the 113 on my shopping list for some time. This thread might influence me to buy another knife that I don't need.

When I play with that model in Buck's custom knife builder. I always end up with S30V steel for the blade and elk scales for the handle. If mother of pearl handle was available I would be interested in that. I probably couldn't afford it, but I would be interested.

O.B.

Plus 3 on the nickel silver. NS and Cherry wood would fit right into my collection. The 113 ranger looks like a handy knife, though not crazy about the large sharpening choil.

Just to elaborate a little, I see small fixed blade EDC knives being pretty hot right now. Look at the way people glow about the ESEE Izula, Bradford Guardian 3, BK11/14 etc... having a small fixed blade already designed, I can't figure out why C&C, SK, DLT, etc aren't striking while the iron is hot.

Even Bucks custom shop options are pretty limited and still geared toward keeping it a hunting knife.

I only have two and one of those comes from a two knife Boone & Crockett set.

The problem I have with this knife is the short handle.Other than that I do like the blade.

Here is one you might like.

A knife overlooked for edc is the Buck Matt would go knife.

I love mine but never really carry it. I'd like a horizontal carry sheath. That'd make it a winner for me. I think it carries too big for a smaller knife.

It would be an awesome knife indeed and it does tempt me. I think it would be a bit "too much" for an EDC though. here in CT I can't carry a fixed blade more than 4" so I try to limit it to 3.75" or less, so that an overzealous cop with a ruler can't misread something and get bent out of shape.
In general, most "EDC" oriented fixed blade, I've found tend to run in the 2.75"-3.5"ish range.

I found some dude named Leroy Remer and it looks like that style of knife is one of his favorites. A lot of his knives look like the 113.

I have a 113 done by Leroy. Mammoth tooth and camel bone. A lovely knife. it'd look better with ns...:)

I like it a lot but it doesn't fit my hand well, little too short, so mine sees little use. Also, cools my desire for another one of them.

My issue I know, it is a nice knife with great lines.

I kinda like the small handle, then if I have to, I can slide my pinky behind the handle and really push, I don't know if the circumstance will arise, but if it does and I have my 113(which I probably won't), I will be ready.....at least it looks pretty:D P1012936.JPG P1012938.JPG

The Gen 5 might be a good option too..I've received 2 from Buck as award knives (the MP burl is mia) but I never considered using them. A small fixed blade can be a do everything knife but most folks go with a folder. .

Wow, that one is beautiful. A work of art.

Another option, Aluminum bolsters like the 110s by Copper & Clad. I like the weight of the 113, but a lightweight version would be cool too.

The blade is 3".

The Gen 5 and 113 have a 3" blade. They are just not enough knife for me. Nor the handle. A decent blade shape. DM
