Why doesn't the Spyderhawk have jimping?

I recently got a Spyderhawk. It's an awesome knife. I really can't believe the cutting power of a hawkbill, it's incredible! But, I was wondering how come there isn't any jimping on the spine. Thanks

Why would it need it? It is designed for pull cutting.

Yep, the structured handle works very well for what it was designed for. Even the superleaf which has the same handle design, which also has no jimping, has very good grip ergos and grip security.

IMHO, a well designed handle will be very secure even without jimping. OTOH, all the jimping in the world won't make a poorly designed handle better.

You're thinking of the SuperHawk. The Spyderhawk uses the same handle as the Pacific Salt and Endura 3. The question was probably prompted by the Tasman Salt having jimping on the spine at the back of the thumbhole. I've never figured out why. I believe the H-1 SpyderHawk Salt is made with the old tooling from the VG-10 SpyderHawk, which dates back to before they started putting jimping on anything that didn't move fast enough.
