Why don't companies clearance their blades for the detent ball?

One negative thing I've always thought about most frame and liner locks is the fact that the detent ball hangs up on the blade tang when closing the knife. A ridge in the tang with a gradual ramp up to the blade surface leading up to the closing detent hole would create a very smooth closing blade. The only knife I have that seems to accomplish this (although in a different way) is my CRK Umnumzaan. It seems to be a more prevalent problem with flippers as the flipper almost pinches my finger if I hold the lock bar over long enough to pass the detent ball.

If I had to guess its a not thought of as much of an issue, besides it keep the blade edge from slamming into your finger if you happen to be day dreaming when you are closing your knife.

Curtiss Knives F3's have a little notch cut into the blade tang for the detent ball when closing.
