why don't the handles fit 52100 mule?

so I bought the halpern g10 handle and with some hammering they fit all of the mules, some are tight but it worked. all except the 52100 mule. does it use a different size of hardware? thank you.
 
Yes they are differant on the first mule, I remember reading that Spyderco changed them as some people were having a little trouble finding the right size pins/fasteners.
 
This has been discussed forever here, at SF, USN, etc. I am not aware of any standard hardware that will fit. You might call HT and see if they know of something. The alternative is to open the holes up. You will need a real, solid (not coated) carbide bit. The MT01 tang is very hard.
 
thanks for the info. I googled it earlier but there is so much mule info out there I couldn't find it. maybe I will paracord the handle. thanks!
