Why don't we start a group?

I was thinking, as I do, about the Beckerheads group (I'm trying to get in on that ;)) They have entry requirements, and you get a number that you can identify yourself with and put in your signature so everyone knows you're a Beckerhead.

Well, they all love Beckers, and we all love HI Khukuris...So why don't we make a group like that too? I was thinking similar entry requirements. If you don't know of them here they are http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...s-roll-(Beckerhead-Member-List-SIGNUP-THREAD)

Pretty straight forward, own at least one HI Khukuri (Most of us have several), have 25 posts in HI forum, own 5 threads in HI forum.
Now, I don't want to step on any toes with the Beckerheads and outright copy them, possibly annoying some of them? But this is an open forum so I don't see a problem with it. Might have to run it by Bladite or Karda.

I think it would be a good idea, not only would it make us a tighter knit group, but it'd advertise HI products and possibly drive more customers to Auntie and HI trying to get into the group :) It would definitely entice some people to post more and get more involved with the company and the forum in general.

I was thinking something to do with the term "HIKV" we use, but that may offend some people due to it being derived from HIV...so that's probably out of the question. So as for a name, I don't know lol

HIHunter? KhukChaser? HI Supporter? KhukNut? Actually I like KhukNut lol

What do you guys think? Post any ideas and suggestions :)

We have a group...right here in this forum. The HI Cantinistas. I see no need for another group using a part of the software that was thrown in without integration as an afterthought. I myself, also see no need to have a "KhukuriHead" number to know who I am or who my friends are. Anyone may put "proud supporter of HI khukuri or kamis" in their signature. As far as advertising goes, HI prefers it's advertising be done by word of mouth by it's many satisfied customers. There is no need for more as Auntie and HI in general are finding it difficult to keep up supply enough for demand as it is.

Before any group using the HI name is created it would have to have the owner of the brands blessing. It is after all her business and concern. The matter would need discussion and would definitely need to be upheld to the standards of this site and the business.

I was not here when Uncle Bill was here but I have read some of what he had to say in the archives, and heard others talk about him. It seems to me that Uncle Bill was interested in downplaying the ego, and taking the lower seat. Putting together a formal group might feed the ego (Look at ME! I'm in the 'in' crowd!) and could even change the tone of this place, which would be a shame. Like I said, I never knew Uncle Bill but it doesn't sound like this is something he would have approved of. Even if it led to the sale of a few more knives, I think Uncle Bill would have opted for the humble path.

Interesting concept, but Bill and Yangdu have always been trying to embrace as many others as they could, not just to spread the word of HI blades, but extend the Oneness of compassionate humanity to others.

HI has always been heavily flavored with spirituality, more so than marketing. Interesting the success HI has had, based on the many flavors of our friends and customers.

Be well and safe.

I totally agree with you, HI is the most spiritual and "whole" companies I have ever done business with. I never had pleasure of meeting or speaking to Uncle Bill but I can honestly say I "feel" for HI like I would feel for a family member. The wealth of information on the website is what initially pulled me to HI. Then I started posting on the forum and met the bunch of the best people I have ever had the chance of conversing with. Everyone here like Auntie, Bawanna, Cul, Bookie, Shav, Ndog, Bob, Dan and many many others have been the most welcoming and informative bunch of people I have ever met. Uncle Bill's energy is alive and well, HI is now in my heart and will remain there and I am sure it is in the hearts of many of us.

Uhhh!... He said Ndog? Uh..huh huh huh...My ears have their own area codes now! Likewise brother! Good to have ya:thumbup:

Ditto what he said^^^^. For some reason when I log on here my true mean spirited, selfish, mean and onry disposition melts away and I appear to be nice, at least to my in my tiny self centered meaningless opinion.

I luv you guys and gals. Ok I said it, the closet door done fell off the hinges, I'm out.

not a bad idea, I already self identify with my avatar :D--much respect to the karma nature responses on the topic, nothing I really ever thought about, but after it is pointed out, I think you guys are right.

I agree, this is already a group with a name....I do not post much and i do read THIS forum almost daily...As i have said, i read these forums for months before logging in and making purchases....There are some good people currently and those who have passed on that have shared a wealth of knowledge.. This is a spiritual and whole company..
HI is a great story about creating a business that cares about their people....Trust my words...I own a business for 21 years now and i DO KNOW that if you take care of your people 1st, every thing else will follow...It is good karma...The most profound article i have EVER read about HI was/is the kamis being given a wrist watch and sandals/shoes....I have mentioned this before...It really meant a lot to me given the circumstances(sp?) in Nepal and the many kamis who struggle for survival....HI is an even playing field..Taking care of each other is most important here..
I realize this has nothing to do with dimensions, weight

dang it!! I type so slow i get booted off before i finish..As i said, it has nothing to do with dimensions, weight of the blade, ect, The products are great because HI cares about their people, therefore, great products will follow....Enough said before i lose the thread again!!
