ive met mr. emerson twice at his store. really enjoyed meeting and talking with him, just seemed like a real stand up guy

But I believe the Emerson Multi-Tools are made offshore.

We can thank President Bill Clinton for NAFTA, the agreement that made it profitable for American companies to move out of the USA, across the border to Mexico to set up shop with in sight of the USA.

Then you have GE's X-CEO Jack Welch who is credited for "out sourcing", where GE had components of their products built off shore. Shipped back the the USA for assembly.

Last I would say Unions and some of their ridiculous wage & benefits packages for many low or unskilled unionized workers doing simple assembly. Have fueled another group of business to move to a more friendly work environment.

Best thing is (joking) all their products come back into the USA without import taxes, or duties, than to our strict import regulation we can blame of Presidents Administrations, and Congress Members.

Also be ware Made In America does necessarily mean 100% Made in America, it just mean enough of the work by percentage is done in the USA to Merit the American Flag Sticker.

BTW IMHO the Chinese are were Japan was 112-15 years ago in their production capabilities, and quality control. They are catching up fast. Also almost ever Apple I-Phone, I-Pad & Computer is now designed in the USA, but manufactured in China. Anyone beside me using anything Apple?
 
My folder is an Emerson. Nuff'said! I don't carry any others. Many thanks to EKI for their great knives and people. A Kwaiken would be all kinds of cool. Now, how about an Emerson Bali too :D I'll gladly drive down to you and pick it up!
