Why have a pro photograph... (part 2)

First rate across the board - the knives, the makers, the photographs.

A superb collection Peter, I really don't blame you getting Coop to capture these, they are simply wonderful.

I love seeing group photographs, but when they are distilled into such a wonderful collection of superb pieces, by such renowned makers then the image itself becomes an item of value in its own right.

Now ...... I want that, that, that, and that please

You have some nerve! Just when I was feeling good about my collection, you go and post your pics, humph!

When you can't stand to look at that Newton Fitch collab, just let me know... ;)

Also, that Wheeler, I had the opportunity to buy it from Daniel when he got it, foolishly passed on it, glad it at least ended up in such a great collection.

Oh, that trailing point Bradshaw, wasnt that the one he offered in the Maker for sale forum? If so, all I can say is crap, should have bought it!

I've thought about having Coop do a few of my knives too, but, I am resisting the urge, since relying on my own pics motivates me to improve my skills, with my goal being to take pics as good as Coops, a long way off, but, i'm working on it. :) I suppose the next step, is to pick up a decent camera, and as per Coop's advice, the Sony DSC-V3 looks like the ticket, course, there goes a new knife I could have bought with that money, but, sacrifices must be made for the sake of art. :)

It goes without saying, but I will, your collection is very impressive.

I know of at least three in your collection that are missing up there -- and one of them's from me. Okay, let me dig up that list in the drawer. I'm afraid I'm going to have to put a little red tic mark by your name. :D

You've really got a fine collection there.

Guys, this is some, but not all of the work we did together last week. You can see by his fine taste in knives that he enjoys the 'pleasures' of the forged blade. I was easily in admiration of these rare pieces.

I had the priviledge of having Peter drive to my home last week, and we did a collaborative effort on selection and display. I gotta say, Peter has a sharp eye for quality and layout, and kept me honest the entire evening. ;) :D

I think he also gained an appreciation for my end of the work that is involved as well, as we went over drafts and final versions until we were both happy.

at 11:30 on a weeknight we had to say goodnight, even though we only began to admire my own pieces.

I hope that I was able to capture just some of the magnetism that these blades attract. WOW!

Thanks again.

Coop

Ari, you are doing great on your own. Stay on it. :)

Wonderful! I get such a charge out of seeing that which other collectors are excited about. It reminds me that I'm lucky to be a part of something larger than just my little world. Great group of first class blades.
