Ok, I like the good swords, and I got a couple of good short ones made in the phillipines but every now and then I love the cheapos.

Mainly the thing is I operate my own sideshow and love the stage.

here's a couple of my cheapie pictures.

This is the new project, yeah they are machettes, mainly becuase I couldn't find any better prices for my material (3 dollar machettes from Bomgars).

THat's my sword bed that actually sent me to the ER once, they were kind of sharp, but it didn't matter when I nailed in a show accident.

And the last thing is that I'm always looking out for a few cheap ones to grind down for sword swallowing. The most I paid was 25 for an old Royal Einfield bayonet to use, it's a lot of maintance but it works really well for swallowing.

Now the new thing I'm looking for is for my wife, we are revamping the sword bed routine where she is going to chop a head of lettice, a melon or a cuecomber (whatever is on sale that week at the grocerey store) on my chest.

any good suggestions. This time I don't want a cheapie, but I don't want to spend a fortune either. (mainly becuase I can't write it off tax wise though)

Everything has its place, in this case you are using the swords (and I use the term loosely based on the photos :) ) as tools in your act rather then actually as "swords" per se. For that activity the cheapies are perfectly adequate and also cost effective. In the same way when someone buys a stainless pakistani wonder to put on their wall because it is "cool" I think that they are making the right decision and getting a good value for their money... as long as they don't take the pakistani wonder down and attempt to fight an armored opponent with it OR try to impress their friend that knows what does and does not make a good sword as opposed to a good wall decoration. It's all a matter of what you want to do with the sword. Are you going for a sword or wall decor?

In the case of the chest vegetable chopping you might want to check out www.kriscutlery.com or perhaps one of the ubiquitous Chen products that are all over the net. Both should have something that is nice looking without costing a fortune and should be perfectly adequate for what you need it for.

Hope this helps.

Be careful with the vegetable chopping. There was a video floating around recently where a guy tried something similar and ending up cutting the partner's throat(not too deeply though, he was okay). I'd reccomend a lot of training before you attempt it, though I'm assuming you've already got some?

I'm definatly not going for the throat chop, it's going to be on my chest when laying down on the bed of swords after somebody gets off from standing on me (I then make a joke about the things I have to do to look up sombody's skirt) then the chop routine starts. The thing is, cinderblocks are getting expensive, and I don't want to carry extras in my already crouded truck to shows.

theres gonna be a lot of practice and work to get this one right. I'm definatly not going to leave this one to chance.
