Why I love the USMC *pics*

Though I sometimes poke fun at my counterparts, they have the most endearing quality in my eyes. The ability to break anything and everything, to include 2 inch ball bearings. With this habit in mind, they need some serious hardcore toys. And I now own these two. US Optics MST-100 (they got the USMC contract a few years back) and a serial numbered base from an M40A1. Hope you guys like 'em!

Not bad, what's that for zeroing at 25m? Real men don't use anything but a straight 4x32 anything else is just overcompensation. Oh, and not bad :D

US Optics is my fav scope maker.

Nice one Marty.

What!? Real men use iron sights. :D

Nice glass. Makes the last glass I bought look puny.

Will it be used on something, or just placed in your collection?

How is the based marked so that you can determine it came off of an M40A1?

I love the 40A1, but don't like the later models. Too much whiz bang stuff for me.

This one has the mil-dot reticle or something else?

Thanks for the pics.

I am sorry Marty since you are in the Army you aren't authorized that scope, but since the Marine corps is a division of the Navy and I was in the navy send it my way:D Very nice Optics (just don't train them on me:p )

m1marty,

Next time you steal one of those off the Base, maybe you can send it to me as a gift?...It'll work very nicely, mounted on my Glock model 27 pistol.:D.:D.

I have a rifle in the works that should be done in a month or less. This will be my coolest rifle to date as it will be made with a bunch of real USMC parts.....stay tuned.

Maybe I've been out of the loop for too long, but I've never heard of the company. ???

How does the quality compare with the 8.5 x 20 power Nikon Monarch I have on my CZ rifle?

Danbo,
The following should help you out: http://usoptics.com/
As far as quality, only line of glass (IMHO) that is as good or better is Schmidt & Bender. Absolute top optics w/ the USO and S&B both.

Some of them aren't that bad a price, all things considered, but man for how much the others are you'd figure they'd have the built in range finder, bullet drop compensator built in. Well, I guess that's if you're lazy.

When you want the best, you want either Schmidt & Bender or USO. Granted this glass is slanted towards the tactical side of things but, if you need that level of performance, those are the two companies you want to purchase from.

I have NightForce and the Leupold Mark 4's but, I would trade them for comparable Schmidt & Bender or USO optics at any time given the chance. The NightForce scope makes a better benchrest scope and does well on varmits. The Mark 4's are good glass but, at their price point you can buy more expensive and better glass for yourself (+1) since you aren't outfitting a whole army (+1000 ...).

They do...and they're called *mil-dots*;)
Rat- It would make you cry if you knew how much I didn't have in this scope.:D

I know I have a burris with a ballistic plex ;) No, I was talking about the scope I saw the other day on one of our .50's. It had a laser range finder built in that automatically compensates for bullet drop. Zeiss has a new scope out that is similar but I think it costs like 3800 and weighs 3 or 4 pounds. Not bad for a bench rifle, but your sheep rifle might only weigh a pound or two more than it
