Why I PICKED Camillus (actually BK&T)!!!

There I was, I just got the Cold Steel July Special catalog and there what did I see but a CS Recon Tanto on sale as war overrun for $45! I had the wife all primed to buy it for me as a gift.

Then I had to ask over at the General Discussion area for recommendations for a general purpose knife and somebody sends me over to the Becker Knife and Tool site. Lo and behold, what do I see, but a Desert Tan Crewman for about $51!!!!!! Oh gosh, no, anything but Desert Tan!!!!

(For background: I used to live in Seattle and spent my summers in the Desert Southwest, especially Nevada and Oregon (Area 51, TTR Faultless, Diana's Punch Bowl, Black Rock Desert, Fort Rock, OR, etc. In other words, I love the desert).

Now, I got's to convince the wifey poo to spend money on a BK&T instead of a CS RT.

Will I succeed? Will I have another knife in the mail this time tomorrow? Or will I go down in flames, with no new knife in sight plus a po'd wife in the house?

Stay tuned until tomorrow for the rest of the story. If I don't post tomorrow, someone please pass a round out for me, I might not be back for while....

please dont get me jump started with a title like that again, or else i will have no choice but to virtually kick you in the genitals

I probably did overdo it a little bit didn't I?

The good news:

I must be married to finest woman on the planet: She is going to order the BK#10-1 this morning from 1 Stop for $50.99 plus 3 days shipping so I get it before we go camping this weekend on Thursday!!!

Is she fine or what??

Now, how do I go about changing this title thread from "hate" to "love"???

Unless, of course, someone tells me that BK&T has other knives that are in desert tan. Even my wife has a limit!

i wont mention desert tan... yep she sounds good... better change that title, i bet there are people who are so shocked they wont even come in to read this post.

Man, I was just about ready to email Will and ask him to ban you for saying you hate BK&T, but since you are getting a Crewman, I'll let it slide...This time.:D.
 
Hey....that Thread over in general sounds familliar....:D

Awesome choice man!! Betcha yer' gonna love it. Heaven knows I love mine. (unfortunately so does the wife...she's commandeered it for her own camp knife) Actually that's a good thing...she's been needin' one.

Don't remind me. I just got the latest Quartermaster Brigade catalog and they now have the full line of Becker knives.

Including the BK-7 and BK-9 Desert Tan knives.

Collecting knives is almost as bad as collecting AR's: you can never stop with just one or two or three or .....

I consider the Recon Tanto and the SRK some of the best deals in tough knives, but I will admit that the BK&T knives are a level of quality higher.
