Why I want to buy from HI

I have not yet bought a blade from HI (Lack of funds), but I have already committed myself, I have known of HI for a few years and know someone that owns an HI khuk. I saw his 18 in Ang Khola and was instantly hooked. I drifted through the forums for a year or so without posting, tried to learn as much as I can about the company, the khuks and the customers...all I can say is that I am absolutely amazed at the quality, the customer service HI and Yangdu offer and the genuine care that is put into every order. From what I have seen, Uncle Bill started the best company I have ever seen in my life, one that isn't corrupted by greed or a sense of power over their customers, after Uncle Bill passed away (RIP) Yangdu carried on this tradition proudly and continues to show us all how a company should be run, to this day.

I could have bought a lesser quality Khuk from someone like Cold Steel, or another dealer, but I decided to save up my money for an HI Khukri, I could have even bought a used one. But I didn't, I want to support Yangdu, HI and all of the Kamis. They have bought my heart and mind with their compassion, trust and extreme selflessness.

Thank you all so much, you have given me back some faith in humanity and a better outlook on life

Great post MG! and Welcome!
I think you'll find that most everyone here feels the same way.

I find the caring and heart around here difficult to put into words and I feel like I don't always communicate what I'm feeling:)
Welcome and check out the 16.5" weekend project knives for 1/2

I am deal spotting in my own forum now:foot::D;)

You are most welcome here, and thank you for a fantastic first post. Don't worry, your khuk will find you. They have a funny way of working their way into the hands they are meant to serve.

Welcome to the forum!

Yes, due to the way Uncle Bill and Auntie Yangdu have run HI, they have a family, not a customer base.

HI is one of only 3 companies I know of that has this close a relationship with its customers.

I came for a Khuk but stayed because I found found a company and a community of folks concerned with so much more than blades and profits.

Welcome MG and enjoy your journey.
