Just noticed this one,........ don't know where I've been!
First off I'm a huge Brad Southard fan, just love the lines and look of his blades, and an all time hit for Spyderco on the original Southard Flipper. I find they are the perfect balance between style and performance excellence.
That said, reasons for lusting over the Hanan:
1. Keeps a nice blade profile with a defined recurve. On a smaller blade this only excels the users ability to use different parts of the edge for different tasks.
2. A Compression Lock paired with a flipper!!! It's everything I want and need in a pocket knife. While I loved the original Southard, it's my only frame lock, and I was not interested in expanding with more. To have the comp lock makes me drool.
3. The materials match the price! Titanium and mixed with the two tone G10 looks like a dress up combo, the steel could be better, but I dig s30v fine.
4. The name! Yes it may be weird, but I'm Jewish and appreciate the thought of using Hebrew in naming this model.
5. The size looks like they put thought into the dimensions, with 2.95 cutting inches being fine for me. The older I get the more I look to smaller blades.
