Why is Caly3.5 so much more than Stretch

I know somebody has probably already answered this, but why such a big difference in cost, whether you are talking VG10 or ZDP?

FRN vs G-10, nested liners vs full, and Seki City vs Moki all contribute to the price difference, I would assume. Maybe tooling costs as well were higher initially for the Caly than the Stretch, so to break even a higher price was needed. None of us besides Sal would know for certain, so if he chimes in, you'll get your answer. Otherwise this is just going to be speculation.

I'd love to see a linerless G10 Caly and/or Calypso at a price point similar to the Stretch. Actully, what I'd really like is to just see more linerless G10 Spydercos instead of just linerless FRN and FRCP.

Would you like to see a linerless G10 knife with a CBBL, anyone?

Possibly because, when you start with a flawed premise, you often end up with an invalid conclusion. In 2009, the MSRP for the CF/ZDP-189 Stretch was $340, while that for the CF/ZDP-189 Caly 3 was $270. Granted, the Caly 3.5 is a bit bigger than the Caly 3, but those are really the only two models that can be compared legitimately since there has never been a G-10 Stretch or an FRN Caly of any size and, if there had been a CF/ZDP-18 Caly 3.5 at that time, I severely doubt it would have cost more than $70 more than the Caly 3 did then.
