The ESEE logo is on two RAT models but none of the others? This is really bothering me despite the fact that with a little bit of research I could understand...
 
The logo was designed for the RC-5 and thus came about after the RC-3, 4, 6 and izula went into production. The 2nd knife is the forum knife. There was some talk about designing a forum specific logo and in the end it was decided to go with the RC-5 artwork. It was already on file and owned by RC and thus had little danger of running into inadvertent copyright issues associated with designing a new one. One thing about Jeff and Mike is that they are sensitive to intellectual property.
 
The RAT triangle is our original training logo that dates back to around 1997. The skull and crossed knives is an updated training logo. We could not legally use the AF SERE logo on the RC-5, so we came up with a new training logo. Originally, the cross knives logo on the 5 was marked SERE under the bottom and then we realized that a good friend of ours, Gary at AL Mar Knives, owned the SERE trademark, so we removed that and went with the ESEE markings. The ESEE brand of knives will be growing since we are moving towards that becoming its own line. So the 10" blade will be marked with the ESEE logo and probably the machete as well.
 
Yeah - the RCXX (name to be furnished) 10" with the skull logo. Its the one blade I need the least and yet paradoxically want the most :D
 
I want a RC3-MIL with the new logo.... I think that would be sweet!!!

Not a biggie though, I just really love the RC3-MIL, and the new logo.

I personally think that we should have only the RAT Pack RC-3 knives with the new logo. It keeps them a little more individual and specialized from the standard version. Just my thoughts...

Well that ain't gonna happen. The ESEE logo was in play before the RP knives came along. I think you will see it on a lot more knives in the future.

I guess I wasn't clear. Obviously you will be putting the ESEE logo on your other knife models, you've already done that so why wouldn't you continue to? I perfectly understand that and I wasn't suggesting you do otherwise. I was just saying that I think that the only RC-3's that should have the ESEE logo should be that RAT pack knives.

Is that the plan for the RC-3 or will you start putting the ESEE logo on some of the the other new RC-3's?
 
Sigh, that sucks, but I understand. I'd kill for a RC5 with the AF SERE logo on it. I know a handful of other people that would too.
