Why Is my Tilt so much faster to open than my 0560?

I have both the Tilt and a 0560. The ZT is nice but after having just received the Tilt (thanks Kershaw Guy) I can say the Tilt is conciderably faster and opens easier. The ZT is broke in and the pivot is adjusted as light as possible without developing lateral play in the blade.

Does anyone know why this occurs?

not sure i have a 561 very smooth my tilt should be here on tuesday il let u know how mine compair

Different bearing systems maybe, blade length may play a role. Dunno, don't have a 0560 to compare with.

longer thinker blade = heavier = slower

if you dont like your 560 i'll take it off your hands! :p

Probably cuz 0560 has heavier blade and also bigger pivot, Not sure if that related :P

My Tilt is faster too.

The 056x has a heavier blade it seems.

Ya it is well documented on this forum that the Tilt is smoother and faster than the 0560. Owning both gives me confirmation on this, feels like the blade weight is the factor.

I got mine here on the exchange.

They seem to have dried up at the dealers.

Even the big auction site is drying up

Does anyone know what the production numbers are for the two different models they made?

I think it was 240 DLC and 480 Stonewashed. It's in the "Tilt . . . Again" thread. Thomas told us.

There were not that many made.

DLC was I think 205 (or somewhere around there). The SW was somewhere 400-500 range if my memory serves me correctly.

I got 2 of the DLC, and 3 of the SW :).

On an unrelated note, my 0560 has smoothed out nicely. I'm still blown away by the quality of the knives for the price. They just keep on getting better and better, even the economy models are just awesome.
