Why is the Ares not a full production model?

Thread title pretty much says it all. Seems like Benchmade is insistent upon keeping the Ares rare. I had a limited edition Ares some years ago and foolishly sold it. Nowadays they are hard to come by and often command some ridiculous prices.

Benchmade has made some confounding decisions but I find the lack of a production Ares to be downright infuriating.

Good question. The Ares knives have been around for many years and Do seem to come out a lot as Limiteds. The original 732, If you can find one, is just one of those classics. Be interested to see what others say!

It never seemed popular here when it was full production. It has to have some ability to sell though since, as you mention, LEs keep popping out. I really like the design personally.

Owned 3 different ones and never could understand why they weren't offered in regular production runs.

Ummm... the 730 was regular production for at least 3 or 4 years, being introduced in 2000. If it had been a bigger seller it would have lasted longer in regular production.
