why is the black handle cold steel srk more expansive than the green handle

Different blade steel.

The most expensive SRK has a CPM 3V blade, the less expensive ones have SK-5 blades.

Different lengths also.

Some SRK's with SK-5 blades have 5" blades, some have 6" blades. The 6" blade ones are slightly more expensive.

I have seen that on CS knives at several retailers. Black seems to sell better and so they sell the colors for a lower price.

If they are the same steel and blade lengths, it most likely has to do with how much they cost when the seller purchased them.

I've also seen the same store selling what was generally a more expensive version for less than the cheaper version during special sales.

I've sometimes seen the Man At Arms swords selling for more than the regular polished versions of those swords, for example.

For a funny story about variants and prices, a few years ago my sister was buying Christmas presents for co-workers and wanted to buy knives, so she called me.

She had the CS summer sales flyer (obviously this was before GSM when CS had big sales) and was asking me about various knives on sale.

One question she had was why the San Mai Taipan cost so much more than the Nightshade Taipan.

It took a while for her to understand that the Nightshade was plastic and the San Mai was metal.

thanks for the responses people, i found out why, it because the other coler were the srk-c not the srk the srk-c is just a couple inches shorter than the srk lol
