The title says it all. I know there's a ltd quantity, but $190 for a folder with 440C? I think Buck is a great company, with a great history and products, and I would like to purchase this one. Any input appreciated.
BTW I just sent in my application for a Buck yearly membership.

Your question has part of the answer in it. Limited quantity, change in materials and process from standard production 110 add to the cost. Just about any Spyderco Sprint run does the same thing. Congratulations on joining the BCCI.

I'm pretty sure I remember CJ saying they didn't have the tooling for these and they were in a large part to be made by hand.

I also remember him saying they weren't going to make money on the one made after the 1964 model.

Yeah I figured I had part of the answer. I'm curious what specifically has been retooled. I believe the blade is thinner than the standard, which if so I like very much. Can anyone shed more light on this?
Thanks for the replies so far.

PS I see Buck300 is out here. I appreciate all the information I've been able to glean from your posts!

Yes, I remember the same; he said they wanted to do the 4 plants but with so much handwork and in this economy, they could not price them to make a profit; so think of them as personally made for you,, IN THE USA!!
