Why is the Rampage so Hard to Get?

I have a standing order in with a knife dealer for the Rampage. I have been waiting for months for this knife. While I was waiting, I picked up the custom version from RJ Martin for MSRP ($385). Now why is it that I can get the custom version before the production version? I know the grinds on the blade are not that easy to make, but this is ridiculous.

I don't know if it's a question of production rather than distribution, or maybe a combination of the two. I wish it was available somewhere too.

Congrats on getting a custom Rampage though, definitely a unique knife.

Sorry to hear that!

Our goal is to be well equipped with the items, we show in our catalogs (Germany, USA Argentina).
But this model is very popular, we have sold nearly 1k of these knives within just a few months!
We hoped, that this will become a popular model, but we did not know, that there will be a run on these knives.

We were allowd to make it very close to the custom version, and this is, what it makes so attractive. Getting a RJ design for a production price.

Right now, we have some in our warehouse. But, when reading your post, Boker USA is out of stock.
Maybe there is a chance to ship one over... but I this is something, that Boker USA has to initiate...

That's a heck of a lot!

BTW, any chance of us getting the folder version any time? About the only thing preventing me from wanting one is knowing that it's not going to get much pocket time.

I've been waiting for them as well. A Boker USA Rep told me that they would post out here when they are available again.

We received around 100 of them, and they were all gone the same day.

I will keep everyone posted as I hear more.
Terry

I think MINE is finally coming...I been waiting a LONG time also to run this one. I appreciate Boker Germany for "initiating" it.

I think you're really gonna like that blade Chad. Seeing it in hand definitely has more impact than pictures. I remember holding a custom Rampage at a show and one of my first impressions was "What was RJ thinking when he came up with this? The next one was "Whatever he was thinking, I like it!" ;)

THe Rampage is a great design!!!
It is very fast and as its name says...
I like it a lot, this is a mean piece of metal!

Now that you've got the custom, what could you possible need with the production version?

The Rampage is one of the most progressive designs to come out in the last decade IMO...

I have the four incher from RJ - its incredible.

I have just received notice that we should be receiving the Rampages today.
And barring a mix up, it will be enough to fill all the back orders, and still have a few in stock.
We will do our best to get them out as soon as we can.
Thanks, Terry

Terry - Are any of them going to distributors?

Thanks/John

From the looks of it, all backorders, whether retail or account should be getting filled in the next couple days.
We did receive them at the end of the day, so shipping will start tomorrow.
Thanks, Terry

Being the (in)sensitive guy I am, just couldn't resist to rub it in... :D

As of Friday, to our knowledge, all backorders were shipped out.
We still have some in stock, for some future orders as well.

Aloha ALL,

Muahahahahaaaaa!!! MOI, I am unaffected by your simply CRUEL pictoral maneuver!!!:p

MAHALO MUCH to BokerUSA for sending me my RAMPAGE!!! For those who have waited forever, like me, let me just say that it will definitely be worth the wait.

This is an absolutely beautifully done production piece, close to custom...Rampage comes in a molded sheath screwed to nylon. I got a Large Tek Lok also, though not pictured:

I have the best grip in the forward hold, in the reverse, it does not work well for me. However, I can hold this one "confidently" in the Whip Grip at the end of the handle near the pommel!

Awesome, awesome, awesome...

God bless and more to come...:cool::thumbup:

PS: Mahalo much Terry and DW!!!

Mine only got plastic, no nylon. 1st run? That nylon looks sweet for EDC, for which I intend;)

Aloha MOI,

Hmmmmmmm, not sure. I had only seen pictures of the knife, never the sheath until now. BTW, ya know what number Rampage ya got? I got #0200...

God bless my friend!

Nice pics Chad.

Off topic for a second, did you ever manage to find a copy of that December Blade with the article on your knives?
