I was paging through my SMKW catalog earlier when I noticed this handsome knife, but @$199? AUS-8? Is this thing made in the USA?

i wouldnt buy it

the only reason i still have my Seal Pup is no one is willing to buy it

Sog knives have always been overpriced in my opinion. I have an aegis i paid 75 for, and i feel like its worth around 25.

It's priced so high because they know that someone, somewhere is willing to pay that ridiculous price.

It's even more here :(
Thought of buying it once or twice but for that price my $200+ went to customs instead. Much better investment. Even my Spyderco bushcraft in G-10 was more worth it for that price IMO.

they are ridiculously over priced. i think a standard $50 kabar would last longer than any sog fix blade lol. $200 you can go for the high end cold steels with sk5 blades

I paid more than that to get a SOG Scuba/Demo made in Seki, Japan (yeah, also AUS 8), leather handle, just because I saw it on a shop and handled it. If given chance to travel back in time, I'd buy it again. But it's just because I love the looks and the feeling, and it's one of those "real" SOG's, made in Seki, Japan.
I think they're having another sort of that blade again, with plastic handles, for around the same price and made in Taiwan. After taking a look at it I felt like they're ruining a good design! :(
I have another SOG products and I feel they are overpriced for the quality. But there are also good products that you can buy on ebay for the "right" and acceptable price. I got a Visionary I that I love for around 65€, which is the same price you pay (here in Europe) for folders of that quality and size from Spyderco or Benchmade.
But yeah, SOG prices are just crazy!
