Why is the "Wanted to Buy" forum so UNpopular??

I've been unsuccessfully searching around in BF for a couple of knives that I'd like to add to my collection of riggers.

I keep thinking that if I posted my "needs" in the "Wanted to Buy" I might just spark someone to action -- someone who has just the knife/knives I'm looking for.

But I get nervous every time I go into "Wanted to Buy" -- NO posts in the last 14 (FOURTEEN!) DAYS. Why's that?

...just wondering, Jim

well this is more of a topic for service and support instead of community

secondly only gold members and above can view the entire WTB forum because only gold and above can sell. you can only see the threads you start because of this.

It is not that it is unpopular at all. It is just that you only see your posts. There are several threads created there each day. If you have the right to sell knives on this site you see them all otherwise you only see yours.

Hey gundude: Whoops -- sorry! I didn't think I was butting up against BF mechanics. I'd understood that a member of ANY level was able to buy, but only Gold and above were able to sell.

So, you're saying that there IS activity on the "Wanted to Buy" forum but only Gold and members can see it. If I post re the knives I'm looking for then I will be able to see THAT post (mine) ...along with the Gold and above members who would be able to sell me what I was looking for.

I'm beginning to think I REALLY need to upgrade to Gold so's to be able to make much use of BF.

Thanks! Jim

PS -- I think Bastid just confirmed things while I was typing! JC

Surprised me too. I always thought mine was the only one in recent history, then I upgraded to Platinum, and just randomly decided to look in there, and suddenly there were HUNDREDS. It all became clear. Metal has its benefits ;) :D

Jim,

Yup that is the way it is now. Before when it was open, people were cheating trying to sell without the level of membership thus selling on the backs of those who actually help keep this site open including Spark.

People who do that really do not belong in the knife community at all.
