Found it strange that there is no Benchmade forum on this site. Benchmade is right up there with Spyderco, SOG, and Kershaw, so why no forum for them?

I don't know I really like Benchmade. I think a lot of their knives are overpriced, but they know how to make a good blade.

I don't know either but our consensus probably has something to do with the fact that we've all joined the forums within the last two months...

If I recall, manufacturer's forums here are moderated by a representative of the manufacturer.

No representative, no forum. It's not a matter of BF not choosing to have a Benchmade forum.

I would guess that Benchmade hasn't contacted BF, doesn't want to contact BF, doesn't know about BF or wants you to discuss their products on their own forum.

Benchmade has their own forum which is fairly active. You can get all the answers you need there. I don't think it would be proper for me to put a link here but it's easy enough to find. I have and love my Benchmades as well.

It would be nice if they had a presence here, because when you feel involved in the company and can talk to the big wigs, you tend to develop more interest in the knives. Consider Mr. Sal and Spyderco, and how great it is to have them on board. I love being able to PM him once in a while to get an answer I know I can trust.

It helps to read the FAQ, many questions are answered there, as well as the sites rules:

The FAQ said:
I don't see [Company X] represented, why not?

We do not provide "unofficial" company or "fan" forums for any manufacturer. In order for there to be a dedicated forum for any specific company, they must show the willingness to take part in the discussion.

If you do not see your favorite manufacturer listed here, visit their website and contact them by phone or email, and request that they join in. If enough of their customers have a demand for it, they will come.

BM has their own thoughts on forums, their forums are for the fans, and from what I understand, that's the way they like it. Not as a means of two way communication.
