Why is this happening?

About a week ago, I thought I pinched a washer. So I call CRK and Bridget says she'll send me out a new set. I get them yesterday and try to put them in. Well, everything went well, until I tried to open or close that thing. It was STIFF. It took a LOT of effort to get it to move. I put the original washers back in and I guess I did it right this time and the thing is buttery smooth; the blade falls when I hold the lock bar back. What's wrong with the new washers? I wouldn't mind having those in my Sebbie, but it makes the action really stiff. I've tried putting it in about 7 times and still no luck. Any ideas? Thanks!

Perhaps they are too thick. Did you measure the new washer with a micrometer yet? Try that and compare them to the measurements from your old washers.

That's what I first thought, but I can't confirm that because I don't have a micrometer.

Oh well, I'll just leave it as is right now. The screws are tightened down all the way, the blade is smooth, and I guess I learned how to put together a Sebenza correctly/finally.:)
