I just got a CKRT Bladelock2. Why oh Why do they have to make the knife w/o liners. I mean the Original Bladelock has full liners. Don't get me wrong I like the BL2 but I was hoping to do some custom handles on it. Now it looks like that's not gonna be too easy.

End Rant

Oh yea neat sw upgrade!!!

I prefer having liners myself but the purpose of eliminating them from the design might be to save weight. I've always thought many of the CRKT models were too heavy and I suspect this may have been a consideration. Spyderco does it often and the reason is to save weight. That's one of the reasons I carry Spydercos more often than other knives. Take care.

The weight on the Bladelock 2 was pretty substantial for its size (had one awhile back) so I would be inclined to agree with that as a factor. While it may not have liners (frankly I didn't even notice it at the time), it is a really solid knife and though the option of customizing the knife may appeal to a lot of us users, I doubt that CRKT really takes that sort of thing into consideration.

Why couldn't you make custom scales? As long a you mill the insides correctly, why you can even change the shape of the handle.
