Why isn't there a gentleman's version of the Mini Grip?

I've been trying to find a non ninja looking knife to replace this 556 mini grip with, and the only knives I can find that I like are the Sebenzas and the Benchmade 706. Both super expensive, and the Benchmade can't even be found...

Why can't they make a gentlemans version of the 556 mini grip? To me it is the perfect EDC knife, except for the fact that it only comes in utilitarian/military looking designs. FYI I refuse to carry a pink one =)

They do make them in blue.
Plus you can get Wilkins scales for them that IMO classes them up.

How about blue or yellow...

Contact Philip Dobson. He did up two sets for mr2blue here on the forums in some exotic wood. Classed up the knife a lot and made it look like the gentlemen's fder you're looking for.

I second the 707. Its a good blend of utility and classy looks. Also check out the shoki, its a very nice gentlemens folder. Hmmm.. and while your at it the 745 mini dejavoo is the shizzle forshizzle!

I loved my 707's. Unfortunately, too small for my giant paws. Got rid of all of my small one handed openers, except for my small micarta Sebenza and Bob T slipit.

You don't say how much you are willing to spend; but if you can afford it, a Buck Mayo TNT (no longer made, but still available) is very classy. A Spyderco Sage 2 with Ti handle is also very nice. Both are Ti framelocks and do not look as much like the mall ninja style that you want to avoid.

Titanium scales with carbon fiber inlay would make it a gentleman's knife.
"Plastic" handles do not.

How does the 707 compare to the various mini-Grips?

It has a much smaller width of grip for the handle, and smaller blade profile, but it is a more gentlemans type of knife.

Heres an in hand of the 707.

If you like the mini grip and axis locks, i'd go for the 707.
