Why isn't there more bone inlay mnandis?

I have been looking at mnandis lately, just trying to work out what inlay.

Being primarily a traditional guy, normally my first choice of covers is a nice amber jigged bone, or a smooth white bone.

I know the mnandi has been made in giraffe bone and ivory, but just wondering if there is a reason bovine bone isn't part of the standard line up?

CRK tends to go with unique woods in their choices that they change up every few years. This year they added Spalted Beech, Bog Oak, and Thuya... pretty exotic stuf.

Not speaking for CRK, but maybe jigged bone does not work in their manufacturer process or view it as being that unique from other production makers.

Just a thought.

Does that apply to cow bone (aka bovine)? Seems to be plenty used by case, gec and the like???

Imo its not unique enough to be used by them. Imo CRK if they do bone inlays they are looking for more rarer/exotic bones

I've no trouble with the nice woods, but I wouldn't say many of the woods are that unique either i.e. ebony, bocote, cocobolo, juniper etc. Are fairly common in traditionals and usually not that costly.

Anyway thought I'd ask. Personally I think a nice oiled white bone inlay would look great on the mnandi.

The only bone that I know that they did was giraffe bone and it's tough to find. Rest was mammoth. Don't recall seeing any stag or anything like that and the ones that did look like that were just mammoth bark.
