Sal, or whoever else who can answer:

How come there isn't a sub-three inch /utility/ knife in CPM440V? I know that the Gunting, at 2 7/8, is CPM440V, but I can't really see slicing up a bagel or opening mail or chopping up cardboard boxes with it.

And while I'm asking questions: I assume the best blade steel on a sub-3 inch model would be the VG-10 on the Calypso Ltwt Jr?

Thanks,
James

The Native has CPM440V but it's just a little over 3". Believe it or not the Gunting makes a wonderful utility knife! The oversized handle gives you amazing leverage and control and this thing can handle anything!

Hi James. The CPM knives are made inthe Golden factory. The Native is the smallest knife that we make in Golden.

Most of our small knives are mde in Seki City, Japan. The cost of using CPM in Japan is quite high.

The ELUs have difficulty spending large amounts of money for small knives.
