Every time we introduce a new model that strays from our flagship designs, we get emails from a small number of folks who seem to be in a bit of a panic that we have strayed off course.
The BURP, Paul's Hatchet, the Stealth Hawk, the Battle Saw, the Scotch Dispenser, the Sus Scrofa, the Pork Belly Skinner, the Holy Tearer, the AK-47, the War Boar, the Hog Nose War Sword, the HUCK Fin, the Argonne Assault, the "Anything" with a D-Guard, etc. . . and now the KPB 98, have spurred these type of responses.
No need to panic my friends! . . . Stay calm!. . . All is well!. . . These designs all come from the same strange place. . . . Me.
I, like all of you, have a crazy passion for knives. . . I love them! . . . It's a 24/7 passion of mine and has been since I was in my teens. . . . Fortunately, we are able to put out some of these wilder designs and have a large customer base that sees what I see when I design them. For that I am very grateful.

Sometimes I study historical designs that I think are just plain "unusual" and then try to capture the "good parts" while removing what I consider to be the "confusing parts". But there is something great in all of these designs that draws me in. It drives me to make them into what I consider to be the next or final evolution of the design. For a very small number of folks, these may look like a swing and a miss, but for a large number of folks, those who have bacon grease coursing through their veins, they can see the Busse lineage and appreciate the subtle nuances of these designs. We hope this keeps our line exciting, unpredictable, and most of all "fun".

On an interesting side note, the KPB 98 is on it's way to a production company for consideration in a very popular series.

Don't know if they'll use it or not, so we'll have to wait and see.
Embrace the fact that Busse Combat will NEVER stay stagnant as long as I'm alive! And considering the number of designs that I have stored away in files, we should be good for at least another 100 years or so after I am gone!
