I just clicked on the anouncement of dale rEif's latest, the ATROX. It is beautiful and fucntional and completely a fantasy knife... and it will remain so.

I think it is in the best interest of myself and everyone who has to live with me if I just stopped coming to this website. The way things are going, I am about to go insane with envy for you people who can actually indulge in these little works of functional art.

Right now, I am lusting after a Ken Onion Random Task, a SIFU, an ATROX, a Hossom fighter, a Livesay Air Assault...

The list goes on. Why can't you guys just stop making incredibly beautiful, strong, elegant sharp thingees? What happened to the days of "made in China" knives? Will I ever overcome the draw of these primal tools of hacking and slashing and splicing and slicing and poking and prodding and...

Will I ever be satisfied????

Uhhhh, huh huh huh...

He said "thingees"

Uhhhh, huh huh huh...

Stiletto Raggio,

I am sorry to say its to late. You are infected and there is no cure. But, don't worry, as long as you have access to a reasonable dosage of knives, you will continue to operate normally. We should warn you that if you try to give up knives now you will instantly be reduce to an pathetic SPAM-like substance.

Well, Stiletto, what do you have right now? You are about my age, so I'd imagine your knife collection is relatively small as well. I've got an EDI Genesis II, a Benchmade 910, a Jaguar balisong, a Microtech UDT, and I still feel like I need more.

Hey stiletto

Never knew you were my age as well

Dammit chang, you're always one knife ahead of me

I have a SAK and a leatherman WAVE. I'd hardly call that a big collection. I've also got a few rip off POS'S that i cannot call knives.

I blew all the money i had (and then some) On a Busse Battle Mistress -E. I just had to have one. Now that i'm broke, i have another knife. I'm happy. Nobody said it was an easy road to walk. Just prioritise and write a list that you will forever revise (and add to) My list at the moment is about 4 and a half pages, and would cost me well upwards of $100,000. There is no way that i will own all these knives. Do i care? Not really. Does that stop me from getting some of them? Not at all. Am i addicted? Absolutely

-James, I think everyone on the forums have a personal knife want list.

Just remember that quantity of knives isn't as important as quality of the knives you own.

Keep lusting, dreaming, and care for the sharp pointies you already have. They get jealous easily...and they can bite.

If you don't seek help soon, you will turn out like most of us and when people meet you they'll only think,"What has it got in its pocketses."

Dale Reif sent me an e-mail and told me the Atrox was $450

. Definately worth it I think. I was thinking probably $600 or something. Well I probably still can't afford it.

I want it.

*suddenly caught between trying to figure out whether he wants an Atrox or a Blackwood American Ninja more*

Oh crap.

ATROX huh?
*scribbling furiously*
Adding THAT one to the list!

Best thing?
IT'S NOT ATS-34!!!!!!!

(dropping to disturbing chuckles)
(ending with a semi-sane snort or two)
Okay,
I'm fine. Shows over folks, move along.

I cut it, and I cut it, and it's STILL too short!

Mr. Pirela, I am going to personally hunt you down and beat you with a stick for putting that on my post. (sob, sob)

I was looking at Ken Onion knives, but I got an email saying I could get a Carbon Fiber Sifu for 115 buck. I could also get an Australian Jungle Carbine rifle for 190 bucks. For me, it is hard to decide between things that go click and things that go BANG! BANG!

Fortunately, my wish list for fireamrs is so far beyond my reach that I am leaving it alone until after college.
