Hello !

Just a couple days ago I received my new Buck/Mayo TNT 172; but it doesn't have any Paul Bos logo on the back of the blade; as it's supposed to have, according to what I read here... Nor S30V or USA mark either.

Is this normal on newlly produced knives ?... or is just a missing in the process of marking the blade ?

Nothing wrong with the knife itself... just this seems funny to me.

Thanks.

Mine has the Bos S30V on the back of the blade. No idea why yours doesn't.

I never paid much attention before, but it doesn't have a model number or year stamp.

I think it's a serious enough issue that you may want to call Buck customer service and get their explanation.

...Might not be a bad idea to post a picture or two of your "172"...

If it doesn't say "USA", does it say "Tiawan" or "China"?

Nope... nothing at all on the back of the blade... however, on the front there is the M from Mayo inside a little circle and the word BUCK beneath it.

It's a 172 indeed, Titanium drilled handles, hollow grind upswept blade... and even a nice black box custom formed for it.

I've got a 172, seems to be double etched...doesn't affect performance

Mystery is solved....you got Rosh's Bos stamp.

Yeah... it's solved !.... Would you please mail me my stamp, Scott ?.... hehehe !

Seem that Buck has a little issue in the blade stamp departament... nothing really that big actually... and as it's said: the performances wasn't affected at all... just a little bit disapointing for a knife this price and level.

Oh well.... I'll have to live with it.

Thank you guts for the replys...!

Regards.

I think if you contact Joe Houser at Buck, he'll help you with correcting the missing "Bos" etch

I'm sure that if I contact someone in Buck; they could fix it.... but since I live in Mexico, its a real pain to send the knife to USA and back again... not mention the time consuming and the risk to lost it.

As I'd say: I'll live with it... I just intended to figure out what had happen to my knife.

Thanks for the advice anyway

I say keep the knife, as is. It has a story, already. It slipped through the engraving procedure. It is unique. Take care, Rob

Hey Rosh I think that you have the limited edition export knife. It is surely a rare knife and will be collectible in your home town. Maybe one of a kind.
